Kayla and Jon – Spicers Clovelly Estate Wedding
Sunshine Coast and Montville wedding photography….
Kayla and Jon were married at the Spicers Clovelly Estate under the beautiful Jacaranda Tree. Their day was full of love and emotion from the very start. I originally meet Jon & Kayla at an extended family portrait session that Jon’ sister arranged. They were just so warm and loving to one another, at the end of session, it just popped out of my mouth “If you ever get married, please call me as I would love to photograph you guys again”. Little did I know that Jon was about the propose to Kayla …. And here you will find a snap shot of their wonderful Love Story
I would love to know all about the proposal. Please do tell!
We were in Paris on New Year’s Eve on a picnic blanket in front of the Eiffel Tower. We stood up to watch the fireworks at midnight and Jon proposed. Best night ever!
How would you describe the theme/style of your wedding?
Simple romantic elegance with a bit of a French influence.
What were some of your favourite wedding details.
The flowers; we chose colours that we thought would complement our bridesmaids (Plum) and groomsmen (blue). We wanted flowers that would pop in photos. Another detail that I added only a couple of months before the wedding was candles. I don’t even know why I didn’t have them in earlier as I am known for always have a candle lit in my house, but the candles really brought a touch of romance to the area.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
1000 Years by Christina Perri. Tears all around.
What song played for your first dance?
Kiss me by Ed Sheeran
What was the biggest surprise on your wedding day?
Seeing Jon cry. He never cries! For both of us, we were surprised at just how quick the day went. We always made time for each alone on the day to just be together in the moment.
Is there a moment on the day, that will last with you both, forever?
The moment that I walked down the aisle and we saw each other for the first time. Unbelievable amount of love at that moment.
If you were to relive your wedding day again, would you do anything differently?
Not a thing.
Do you have any advice for future couples planning their day?
Enjoy it. Do not stress. We loved planning our wedding. It has to be the best year of our lives and it is because we didn’t take it too seriously. Also, get good suppliers!!!! All our suppliers were fantastic and without them I would have been running around crazy on the day.
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Being able to laugh and smile as much as we have for the past 7 years for the rest of our lives.
Please describe one of your favourite images from the day.
Our first kiss! It looks magical and that is exactly how it felt.
What did you like the most about working with Shell?
Professionalism crossed with a really easy going nature. Shell felt like an Aunty that we didn’t know we had on the day. She always made us feel so comfortable.
